I remember the film “Walk the Line,” about Johnny Cash, and they were treating HIM like it was a “whole new sound.” Or was that “Ray?” I can’t remember! Bo Diddley not only had a cool name, he was the real thing!
My buddy Bismo is a huge fan of Blues music, and B.B. King in particular, who he’s seen perform many times. SamJay, who makes an occasional appearance here, is likewise a big Blues fan. For myself, it’s one of many genres that I enjoy equally!
Hi! Doug, you were my source of news today for learning of Bo Diddley’s passing. I had been on another section of the blog and came back to the front page to see what your newest post was. I’ve always loved guitar players like Bo Diddley, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Jeff Healey (who recently passed away from cancer in his 40’s), Elvin Bishop, etc., and the lesser-known blues guitarists-check out the Mississippi Subway Juke Joint movie on the Starz channels. We lost a great musician, but heaven will be rockin’!
