Nice (Action) Figure!

My wife and child were just discussing a Nissan TV commercial from about 10 years ago (too long ago for Eric to remember).  It was undoubtedly inspired by the first Toy Story movie.

Barbie gets dolled up and leaves preppy Ken at the first sight of macho G.I. Joe, who’s tearing around in a red Nissan.  The original Van Halen line-up with David Lee Roth is heard blasting out an old Kinks song.  It’s a fun commercial, with a painful lesson about “nice guys” vs. “bad boys” — painful for the nice guys that is!

  1. Sounds like an another parody of COPS. I have yet to see one that isn’t funny. The one with Santa Claus being arrested for transporting “snow” from the North Pole remains hilarious.

  2. I remember thiw commercial. For another fun “take” on Barbie and G.I. Joe, check out the first claymation episode of CLOPS on MAD TV (YouTube). They’re living in a trailer, and are embroiled in a domestic dispute. Joe is wasted, and Barbie is screeching like a white trailer trash bitch, waving her cigarette around. Joe says that “Skipper would never treat him this way,” and then Barbie starts kicking him, and they both get hauled off to the slammer! HA!
