Horror Classics?

Did you order your Bulldog Christmas Tree? Great! Now it’s time to start getting ready for Halloween with the Village of Horror Classics. We enjoy Eric pointing out these ads for charming collectibles that we’ll treasure forever. But what about Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy and Wolfman? Wimps! Freddie, Jason and Leatherface will make mincemeat of ’em — literally! Click the small picture to enlarge. It’s a big scan, so you can pore over every excrutiating detail. I’m looking for a total price to buy the whole set, but I’m not seeing it.

Wait! I just checked the Collectibles Today Web site, and there’s also a Hawthorne Village collection for the classic Universal Studio monsters. We’ll buy ’em both and stage our very own monster battles!

  1. HA! Eric, you have inherited your father’s sense of humor. I still remember those classic models of Frankenstein and the Mummy that he put together with the infamous glue that some kids today “huff.” Don’t worry, your Dad never did!

  2. Yup, Hawthorne Village sure is going for the right market with this stuff. We all know how much 80-year-old little old ladies with oversized Hummel collections love Jason Voorhees and Leatherface, don’t we?
