Spam mess

Note: I may have deleted a couple of comments by mistake when clearing out spam today. Keep in mind that if you post multiple comments in a row, the spam filter sometimes grabs one and I have to go fish it out of the pile. Today the pile has been very big, and if you’re not seeing a comment you wrote, I apologize.

Obama with one hand tied behind his back

My impression is that McCain gave it everything he had. He needed an opening round knockout, and didn’t get it. He had to resort to calling Obama naive. All Obama had to do in response was prove he knows his stuff, and he did that.

I think Obama held back and he gave McCain nothing that can be used against him in the next debate, but McCain provided plenty of ammo to his opponent. I predict Obama will hit harder next time and he will KO McCain.

Backing in

I’m at work today for a few hours, giving my chair a trial. Seems to be OK, although I’m making a point of sitting a lot straighter than I used to.

I’m having a lumbar MRI done this evening. I’m told that if the condition isn’t serious it may not be conclusive about exactly what’s wrong, which I guess is sort of good.

I can now appreciate why some desperate souls might actually look at spam mail with subjects like “PAIN KILLERS.” Percocet really works. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed in the morning.

The battle is on! John McCain and Barack Obama debate face-to-face
for the first time. Watch the debate live tomorrow night on CNN

OK, so the debate is on again. They should switch the topic to the economy and save international politics for next time.

Baseball been berry, berry good…

Sometimes I just can’t keep up with the exciting doings of always-on-the-go D.F. Rogers, holder of two Boston Red Sox season tickets.

D.F. Rogers with Red Sox baseball

Well, in my 22nd season in my seats, I finally got a foul ball! Last night, at Fenway, versus Cleveland, 8th inning, Masterson on the mound, Ben Francisco pinch hitting. He hits a wicked foul line drive past third. It bounces off the wall that sticks into the field (near where the ball boy/girl sits), the ball goes up and into the stands. It bounces off several hands trying to catch it, it looks like it will bounce onto the field but the guy in front of me has it bounce off his hand and right into my outreached hand. I had about 90% of it and the guy next to me had a few fingers on it, but it was in my hand. No fight 🙂 Case closed — I had a foul ball! That’s the way the ball bounces. An inning later, Papelbon gets Martinez to hit a high pop-up to Cora — and the Sox clinch a playoff spot in a tight game!

I assume a ball hit by the Sox would be considered a better collectible…. ? Hey, wait a second. Admit it. This is you holding an apple at a pick-your-own farm, inserted onto a Fenway background.
