Uncle Tom’s Cabaña, An MGM Cartoon directed by Fred “Tex” Avery, released July 19, 1947. That was 80 years after the Civil War, and it’s been 70 years since then! Politically correct this cartoon is not. Little Eva, played by Red Hot Riding Hood, was animated by Preston Blair.
This post’s alternate title is, “Trump the Real Estate Mogul.” 😉
You’re thinking of “Dig That Dog,” a Walter Lantz cartoon from 1954. It’s narrated by Frank Nelson, who by chance my friend Samjay (his D.J. name) once met.

Say, Dougie, there’s am MGM cartoon I’ve been searching for forever. Molly and I saw it somewhere when she was about five, and screamed ourselves senseless. It’s about Mr. Pettipoint and his puppy who grows into a huge dog who digs up and buries everything, climaxing with the moon from the sky! It’s done in that “modern look” Gerald McBoing-Boing look. Can you find it? Thanks!
