As promised in a comment I made yesterday, here she is, Miss Petula Clark, in Goodbye, Mr. Chips. Enjoy. I’ll post some more a little later.

Petula played Norma Desmond in “Sunset Boulevard” on Broadway, back in the 90’s. I haven’t gotten far enough into the movie yet for the big kiss. When I get there I’ll post it.
Note: Two things I’m proud to be able to do with my own movie transfers, that YouTube doesn’t (not yet, anyway), is true widescreen video and stereo audio. “Goodbye Mr. Chips,” as presented by TCM, had the wrong aspect ratio! It was immediately apparent to me. Don’t know how all of the professionals looking over this material failed to notice. I made careful measurements of the image, did the math, and it’s presented here in its correct shape of 2.2:1 — 440×200 pixels, to be precise.
Utterly delightful! Petula really lights up the stage. Did she ever do any big shows like “My Fair Lady?” The costumes are a bit much, except for the pretty pink one. I can barely recognize Peter O’Toole! I remember his performance as being so restrained that I wanted to SHAKE him awake! How could he possibly NOT want to kiss Petula? Finally he did, and I remember it was a big continuous shot of the start toward the kiss, then a sweep around of the surroundings, then a closeup of them finally kissing! At 14, I found it terribly romantic. I also was pleased at how good an actress Pet was; of course, I didn’t know about her long history in British TV and movies since childhood then!
