Good Ol’ Monte Schulz has stopped by to say hi again at this link from a week ago. He’s always welcome here, that’s for sure. Monte is writing an essay for Gary Groth, founder of Fantagraphics, the publisher of The Complete Peanuts. Presumably, Monte’s essay will be published in The Comics Journal.

Yes, Gary asked me to write the essay for The Comics Journal, probably the April edition. Mine is one of five essays being offered at this round table on the Michael bio, and we’re all going to be commenting on each other’s pieces. I offered a lot of material, most of it things that no one could know except me, and that’s why I felt it ought to be included. Lots about Dad’s life, and some stuff about my relationship over the years with David, someone I admired quite a bit. I believe everyone will find the essay interesting. There’s a fair amount of variety, different kinds of writing, different sort of information and analysis of David’s book, completely different from what, and how, I wrote on the Cartoonbrew.
