I absolutely agree that the crime of invading Iraq under false pretenses merits Bush and Cheney being put on trial in Amsterdam. But likewise, I feel it’s unlikely this will happen.
Not really for me to comment as an “etranger”, but Hillary is coming over as an opportunist.
I personally don’t have a problem with the name Hussein, I have a few friends with that name and they are delightful. I’m much more worried about anything that starts with a DubYa. LOL.
But I don’t have to live under them, so….
Id love to see all those who voted for the totally illegal war on Iraq, on both sides of the Atlantic, in the court in the Hague where the ex-President (and also warmonger) of Liberia finds himself at the moment.
But I think that’s unlikely. If you’re black and the president of a small poor country that doesn’t have oil we can do anything we want to you, If you’re white and Blair or Bush or Clinton, you can do anything you want to us. Still they all say they are Christians. If they truly are, I expect old age is gonna be a frightening time for them.
It’s the way the world is.. I’m just glad we got lovely people like Petula Clark to kiss it all better with a song or two.
Got my tickets for Croyden, 2nd row, right in the middle.
I think Hillary has a lot of under-the-surface frustration, and there’s also sort of a frantic scrambling, with her constantly trying to find the right position and tone and whatever else she’s looking for.
For example, after Bill was out of office, she was using her maiden name again, prominently promoting herself as RODHAM Clinton. But after becoming a senator and making it obvious she had designs on the White House, she dropped it. What was that about?
Then, in 2002, rather than side with Ted Kennedy against the Iraq vote, she went for it. At the time I was shouting at the radio, “You’ll be sorrrrrrry!” And she is. So was Kerry, for that matter.
I can do anything better than you! “No you can’t!” “Yes I can!” I don’t know why, maybe it’s BECAUSE I’m a middle-aged white woman, but Barack still leaves me uneasy. Can’t quite put my finger on it. Is it because he’s younger than my youngest sibling, or because he seems angry under the surface all the time? Or the name thing? BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA? It’s amazing he’s gotten this far just with that name!
