Category Crossover: Colbert meets McCartney

Two faves in one post! Stephen Colbert with Sir Paul McCartney…

Yes, the audio is a couple of frames out-of-synch with the picture. That’s because I used my alternate video capture setup, so the cables can reach from the DVD recorder in the other room. If there’s a fix for this, I haven’t found it yet. Now you know!

I would put the Comedy Central embedded video here, in fact I just did, but they screwed up the markups.

  1. Hormones running out? Don’t forget, guys get older looking, too! (“You’ll be older, too … “) Oh, wait, that was Paul singing to his imaginary wife. Damn! 😉

  2. Hmm… I’d have to look again to see how Johnston looks relative to Hillary. They’re about the same age, and maybe that’s part of it. Also, in general as many people age males and females look less male and female. I assume it’s due to hormones running out.

  3. I’m not taking time to watch this, but I am struck by the resemblance between Sir Paul and the now-sixty-something retired Earth science author I once worked with, whom everyone knew as…Nancy… because that is her name. I’m not sure what it says about Sir Paul or Nancy that they resemble each other, other than we are, perhaps, still moving toward an androgynous appearance, as we age, anyway.

On an unrelated note, has anyone else noticed a resemblance between Hillary Clinton and Canadian comic strip artist Lynn Johnston?

  4. SCREAMINGLY funny! Stevie does a mean McCartney impersonation. I love how they played the big ending “E” chord from “A Day in the Life” when they put his face on the album. “Ringo was the lucky one.” Holding my stomach and laffing.Of course, we have to deal with the minor, but very unpleasant fact that John and George are DEAD. I’m curious to see how Colbert will handle John, especially. Maybe he’ll trot out Yoko, Sean, or Julian.

FYI! In our local phone book, we have 12 McCartneys, 15 Harrisons, ONE Lennon, and NO Starkeys.
