What a stressful game. But at least it’s over. Dan Pawson is the winner of the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. Video of the finale coming up…

NO! As well, I don’t see an ounce of obnoxious behavior on her part. She was probably stressed out and keen on hitting that buzzer before the other guy. I’d do the same thing, even if I was only 50 percent sure I’d get the right answer. She almost always did, and her gambling paid off. I did notice that she kept quiet if she was sure she did not know the answer. But, like Doug says, everybody is entitled to their own people. A wise person told me recently that at least 20 percent of all people you meet will just not like you, no matter how nice you are to them. It’s just a fact of life, and nothing to take personally. As for me, I liked Larissa for all the same reasons my twin bro Doug (and millions of others) did.
J. I’m not sure what you mean by being a little heavy on the buzzer- how exactly was that annoying? If her mannerisms were annoying to you, then I’m sure Aaron and Dan’s were too because they were equally vying for being rung in first. I think you forget to keep in mind that all three of them are VERY competitive- I can’t imagine being on the same panel as them because I”d never be first. I do know that Larissa was not as heavy on the buzzer during the regular season and that Dan receive notoriety for being the faster of three during the regular season- he is said to have attributed this to video games in earlier years…. so, singling out Larissa doesn’t seem fair.
Steve, the tournament was at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, held January 8-11. I assume the shows were done in one or two of those days.
Doug: Thanks for your videos. Re your remark that she’s “had a couple of months to get over it” do you know when this final Champ game was actually taped? (exactly or approx.) And if it was taped before a live audience — or is that canned applause — how do they keep news of the winner from getting out ? Don’t tell me they swear everybody in the audience to secrecy! So how does that work, if you know. Thanks!
I’m sorry that Larissa’s mannerisms aren’t to your liking, J Gonzo, but you’re entitled to your opinion. Most people, myself included, think Larissa is charming. My feeling is Larissa was showing the strain a bit, and I’m sure that even if I were as good at the game as she is, I wouldn’t hold up nearly so well under the pressure.
Thanks for letting me know who the winner was tonight! I fell asleep for the final jeopardy question!
Both Larissa and Dan were SO smart!
What was the final question and answers. I’ll bookmark this and look for your video
Again, thank you.
I am so happy that she lost. I couldn’t stand watching her on the show. Her intelligence is unmatched, but her behavior is terrible. She was so obnoxious with that clicker in her hand. She reminded me of that kid in your third grade class that would do anything for the teacher’s attention. It was sad that after watching her on the show so much I went from admiring her to rooting against her. All three of the contestants were obviously really smart, but her losing is the ultimate justice for me. This girl needs to go out and get a life now…
I was so sure Larissa was going to win… I’m in shock… at the end when they were all gathered around, she looks really upset with her head down and arms crossed… Aaron looked to be trying to talk to her but she didn’t look responsive- I’m actually sad!
Dan deserves a lot of credit and a big congratulations goes to him.
