Any idea who this is? As an adult, her face became the most famous in the world — not one of, but the most. Even knowing who she is, I can’t say identifying her from this photo is easy, but as far as I can determine the snapshot is genuine.
Hover over the picture and you’ll see that it’s Diana Spencer as a child.
LOL Yes, Doug…I didn’t thought that if she was twiggy she looks very trendy!… And I think that Twiggy she would have to be thinner. But twiggy was the fist I think when I saw the little girl! 🙂
I’ve been away, but I would have immediately correctly guessed that it was the late, most photographed woman in the world, Princess Diana.
Lia — I love your guess that it’s Twiggy! But at that age Twiggy would have been wearing one of those old, awful, frumpy 50’s outfits. And Liz… Marilyn? My goodness, the photo would have been older than one of those portraits of your mother! I did this post because I mentioned Lady Di in the item immediately before this one, with Prue Bury’s lovely ballet school portrait.
After the British Invasion, which began with “Dr. No”, and peaked with Sgt. Pepper and Twiggy, the United States came roaring back with West Coast rock and the all-American girl, supermodel Cheryl Tiegs. It was a very interesting time, and I was growing up in the middle of it all, soaking up everything. Goldie Hawn was sort of America’s answer to Twiggy.
No, no… you had it right, Liz! Yes indeed, it’s Di. I’m busy on something else at the moment. I’ll add to this post in a few minutes so you can hover over the photo and see another one.
Okay, Doug, since you didn’t respond in the affirmative, I’m concluding that the photo is NOT of Princess Diana as a young child.
Therefore, 2 more guesses: First Lady Jackie Kennedy. Or maybe Marilyn Monroe?
Is Twiggy??
Well, being as this is the modern world, it certainly can’t be Helen of Troy… as the story goes, the most famous feminine face there was back then! Nah… Besides, she’s dressed all wrong! Tee Hee…
Ummm, I guess, given your clues, that we must be looking at a picture of British Princess Diana, at a young age???
