Hollywood Bowl Blow

We saw Paul McCartney at Fenway Park in Boston last August, and he’s still out there touring, doing clusters of cities. In April he was at the Hollywood Bowl, playing for nearly three hours. But back in ’64 and ’65, when the Beatles played the Hollywood Bowl they were on stage for a lot less time.

  1. Was at The Bowl both yrs and then Dodger Stadium for the last tour. Mom refused to advance my allowance so I could purchase the DS ticket – I had to sell my blue Schwinn bike to by the ticket! My ticket was $6 – but I had to help cover parking costs for the ‘mom/pop duo that was going to drive us and wait. My mom sure never offered…she always found there was another sucker willing to wade through the traffic mess. Dodger Stadium was the worst of the 3 tours. You could barely see them and the sound came over the little in house poll mounted PA system. 2 mates who were at Dodger Stadium with me sold their ticket stubs and programs in 2000 on eBay – they got $200 and $212 respectability. Ticket stubs alone now go for $180 and up. I cannot imagine what my Beatle Cards are worth now. I also have all my old Teen Beat and Tiger Beat magazines from the ‘time.’
