  1. The rule of Supply and Demand doesn’t apply. Inelastic Demand takes over. Cable TV providers will squeeze whatever they can get from their remaining customers who, for one reason or another, want to keep their service. For me, it’s TCM.

Speaking of tied to old cable models, we wanted to watch the College Ultimate Div-I finals, which are on ESPN-U, so we signed up for some streaming package of ESPN+ which sounded like it included ESPN-U. But it didn’t. Or it did, *if* you had cable. In the end, we had to do a trial subscription to YouTube TV in order to get ESPN-U.

    Really irks me also that the only sporting events you can purchase on a “pay per view” type of arrangement seem to still be boxing/other fighting sports. Why??
