‘With a Girl Like You’ was released on 8/6/66, peaking at #29 on Billboard.
It was the follow-up to the Troggs’ #1 hit ‘Wild Thing’, released on 6/25/66.
As is required of every hard rock band, the Troggs had a soft, romantic ballad. Released on 2/24/68, ‘Love is All Around’ cracked the Billboard top 10, reaching #7.
And wait! At the beginning of the last video, aren’t the boys borrowing from a certain scene from a certain 1964 monster movie? Hmmmm …
Ha! I haven’t heard the dog song since, well, 1966! You could almost hear the ancient, rust memory door screeching open in my head. x)
