After I played around with the audio speed for the Ross Bagdasarian posts and South Park, my sister wanted to hear a speed correction of Robbie Benson’s voice from Beauty and the Beast. There’s a video clip above, and below is the audio sped up by 15%. Not sure if that percentage is exactly right, but it sounds close enough.

  1. Excellent job, Doug! Even then, I’m sure Benson was forcing his voice to sound deeper.

You know, this is the first CG-movie that really blew the socks off everybody; also, it was the first animated movie ever to win a “Best Picture” nomination. The voice saying “Invite her to dinner” belongs to the late Jerry Orbach, who played “Lumiere” in B& the B.” He had a long history in musical theatre, and starred in “The Fantastiks,” a favorite of my parents. We played him singing “Try to Remember at our mother’s memorial service, and again when her ashes were interred.
