Margo Guryan’s highly prized and praised 1968 album, “Take a Picture”, is pretty in pink! Sundazed Music has issued a limited, 100-disc, pressing of the original LP on gorgeous, translucent pink vinyl.

Here’s a video of me putting needle to groove on virgin vinyl, side 1, track 1, playing the first minute of Margo’s “Sunday Morning”. The disc was taken from the original analog 2-track master tape, and the sound quality is, like Margo herself, stunning.

Margo spent the summer of ’59 at the Lenox School of Jazz, here in good, ol’ Massachusetts, with an illustrious group of instructors, including Bill Evans, John Lewis, Milt Jackson, Jim Hall, Max Roach, and Gunther Schuller. Here are a few photos from that magical summer. Click to enlarge, as usual.
(Note to Morris: Recognize some of the people with Margo?)
I cut off the video above at exactly the point where the song really kicks in for me. I love the way Margo sings, “Come hold me in your arms…” Here’s the whole track.
Many cover versions of “Sunday Morning” have been recorded. Margo has no particular favorite, but one that I know she likes is by Glen Campbell and Bobbie Gentry.
We’re off-topic for this post, for sure, but it’s fun seeing the ladies break from their kiddie show image. As soon as the rest of the show is ready I’ll put it in a playlist and post it.
Haai π Whaha your welcome, omg i know π the show is more for older kids than more people think, its kind of Friends meets Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers π They play three best friends who live in the same building, Karen and Kristel live in one and Josje lives in the one next door. π Its kinda just like friends, Kristel plays the mature one with a cleaning obsession, Josje the dumb naieve blonde and Karen the crazy tough red head. π Its very funny with the blonde surfer dude who they all fall for but fight over but also not trying to let him come between their friendship, the weird yet nice old man Marcel who secretly horns on them but tries to help them where ever he can and the nice lady called Rosie who runs her own cafΓ© down their appartement π this is part 2 of the first episode http://www.youtube.com/user/dtvdavid1#p/a/u/1/xxUQhAzcsKE
Hey, thanks for the link! A K3 sitcom is what they need to move out of the kid shows. Karen speaks a little English! Maybe the rest of the show will get posted.
Hi your a K3 fan right? I found the very first episode of the K3 sitcom called Hallo K3 (in English Hello K3) on youtube with English subs! its very funny!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXX-SfT17Rk

Wow, I love this post. Isn’t Margo wonderful? I love her, she’s my idol.
