I’m looking at you, Snoopy and Garfield!

Today’s logo sketch is an example of how I think a TV animation studio might modify Jeanie’s design to make her more ‘Smurfy.’

You can see that I changed the dialogue in the last panel, in an attempt to improve a weak gag. But Beckle is a bird, so he eats bugs, right?

All of the pencil sketches shown in the logo window are new, by the way. Right now it’s this one. I wonder which character gets the extra large coffee?

This was a favorite idea of mine, having my little ensemble doing evening readings and recitals. A book club was another possibility.

The idea was to convey Wendell and Beckle feeling “rough around the edges” from staying up too late. To do that I used an Epson dot-matrix printer and a Logitech handheld scanner.

I completed an inked drawing of the characters, made a low-res scan, and sent it to the Epson. I cut out the figures and pasted them over the original art. As always, enlarging the image is recommended.
