I received a very nice note today from somebody, with a virtual “Big Hug.”

Where are the K3?
It’s time once again to indulge my not-so-secret shame, K3. Hey, it’s been over six months! This is the video for their song Where Are the Angels?
And this is the promo for their new movie, featuring the song.
Hallelujah, K3!
It’s been four years since a Flemish friend got me started on K3 (we Americans hear it pronounced as “kah-tree”). Much has changed since then both professionally and personally for the ladies, but they continue to be popular and ply their trade in music, TV shows, and movies. K3 fan Mia told me the new single from their upcoming movie, Where Are The Angels?, has been posted on YouTube. Lately, some of the K3 videos I’ve embedded from YouTube have been pulled, so I extracted the MP3 audio. I really like this one.

K3 has to be nice for 24 hours or they are in big trouble when they get kidnapped by angels.. but in these 24 hours their 3 annoying nieces arrive and they are everything but nice little troublemakers can K3 stay nice? The short teaser trailer is really funny! 😀 It shows K3 thinking they are slim as always but actually they are fat as hell, which is a side effect when you lie or when they are mean.. kinda like a curse.
With all of the overweight and obese kids in America, I wonder how well this idea would work here?
A small step from A to K
In the 70’s I liked all of the usual music that guys were into — The Who, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, ELO, the Eagles, etc. Later, I went through a major Punk/New Wave phase. But there was a part of me that absolutely loved ABBA. Heavily imprinted upon my musical memory they are.

For myself, it was a small step to go from ABBA to K3, despite the trio’s lack of English.

Karen Damen is my favorite member of K3, and I assure you that my preference has nothing to do with her resemblance to Frida in ABBA!

Party like it’s 2009!
It’s already New Year’s Day in Belgium and the Netherlands. Three years ago K3, the Flemish Europop queens, recorded this New Year’s message.

“United As One”? Well, no, because a few months later in 2009 Kathleen Aerts quit. She was replaced by “Josje” Huisman, who seems to have been the perfect choice for the girl group.
For you K3 fans here’s a recent picture of Karen, looking sort of like Lindsay Lohan did before she discovered meth, or whatever it was that wrecked her.
This was Karen about twenty years ago.
K3 fans fly united
K3 fan Theo Hendriks in the Netherlands writes…
Hello Doug,
This is Theo, I’m on your blog with a picture of me and K3 and I would like to add to the comment that K3 including Josje, and very especially Kristel, have been very supporting to me in the transistion to a K3 without Kathleen. I still see K3 regularly, and I’m still a big fan.
I lost some weight (well 25 kg), so I look a bit different now, but could you add this picture to your story? It’s Kristel and me end of august 2011.
Greetings Theo.
Netherlands.
Thanks, Theo! I’ll add a link on the earlier blog post pointing to this one. You know how to make a fellow jealous! And on top of that you’re reminding me that for the first time in decades I need to lose weight myself. I’ll make myself even more jealous by grabbing this other photo of you with lovely Kristel. It looks like it was cold there for late August!
P.S. Adjusting to change isn’t easy, but I agree with Theo that Josje is great, although I’m still not sure how they can be K3 with two K’s and a J. 😉
