On the Facebook group devoted to the Wrecking Crew movie, about the legendary Los Angeles studio musicians, a question came up about the lady on the cover with Herb Alpert on the “What Now My Love” album. I chimed in with an explanation, and look who liked my comment!

“The Summer of Our Love” could have been a Petula Clark record, being a Tony Hatch/Jackie Trent production.

My 1959 Jazz collection is rather limited, consisting of Kind of Blue and Time Out. Something that I feel has contributed to the enduring success of these albums is their superb sound quality. They were recorded live, in the then-new format of S-T-E-R-E-O.
