Don’t expect much to be going on this year for Halloween, sorry to say, but I’m working up some sketches for an idea that I hope works out on Saturday.
Quit My Job
Here’s an oldie. Not as old as most of my music choices, but it’s old enough, as am I.
And in concert, from “Stop Making Sense,” a video I loved hearing in VHS hi-fi.

I was still in my 20’s when this was new! Better to not think about it.
She’s Being Mean to Me!
Aww, the big, bad TV reporter lady isn’t being nice to poor, little Donnie. “You’re picking on me, and not Joey! No fair!” Even I didn’t think Trump could come across as sounding so childish.
He wants things to return to normal? Then get the coronavirus under control! How to do that? For starters, at every opportunity encourage everyone to wear a proper mask whenever they are outside of their immediate family. Provide real leadership at the Federal level, based upon actual medical science, and stop throwing everything down to the state level, then claim the Democratic governors aren’t doing their jobs. His point about that is funny as well as stupid, because one of Trump’s primary criticisms is they locked down their states, which is precisely what’s needed if everyone isn’t wearing a good mask when they’re out and about.
Instead, Trump is promoting the dangerous “herd immunity” idea. Remember the death panels that Republicans insisted would be part of Obamacare? They said Obamacare would “kill grandma,” but herd immunity is the same as saying, “let grandma die.” It isn’t even known yet whether or not surviving the coronavirus provides immunity.
But wait, what about a vaccine? Trump has been promising for months that one is coming soon, and he’s done that without offering any specifics about the challenges involved with efficacy, safety and distribution. That last part is more complicated than just having enough sterile vials and syringes. There is also the need for end-to-end extreme cold storage, throughout the transportation chain.
The irony in Trump’s touting of a vaccine is that his followers include the anti-vax crowd. Even worse, his reckless statements about vaccine availability have led to some doubts even among those who are firmly opposed all things Trump. The 60 Minutes video proves yet again that Trump has a fixed, self-centered mindset that can only lead to further confusion and disaster.
Wear a mask and vote to undo the Great Mistake of 2016. A clear and undeniable win for Biden and Harris is needed to limit the damaging effects of the fake ballot boxes in California, USPS tampering, and other Republican dirty tricks. Trump will contest a loss regardless of the margin, but at least I know that my vote will count:

Beatles for Cel
The Beatles cartoons produced for TV in the 60’s don’t have a good reputation, but producer Al Brodax later redeemed himself with Yellow Submarine. The TV cartoons found their way to the Internet Archive a year ago, and they’re still there.

McKean’s Jack Odyssey
Before he was Charles McGill, before he was David St. Hubbins, and before he was Lenny Kosnowski, Michael McKean was a kid with a drawing of himself by legendary cartoonist Jack Davis.
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. Lot of years… Thought I'd share a pic of the 10 year old me, by the great Jack Davis. pic.twitter.com/Pe3pLh1sxk
