The Last Washer and Dryer I’ll Ever Need!

If the new LG washer and dryer last seventeen years, like the old ones from Maytag did, they’ll undoubtedly outlast me.

There’s barely 1/16 of an inch clearance between the opened lid and the cabinets!

Update: pulling the washer out a little opened up the gap.

Fun fact: The bezel around the opening for the plumbing fixture was white when it was installed 25 years ago, and I didn’t paint it to match the wall.

With a Dog Like You

Hearing the Troggs in a TV commercial for dog food made me laugh out loud.

‘With a Girl Like You’ was released on 8/6/66, peaking at #29 on Billboard.

It was the follow-up to the Troggs’ #1 hit ‘Wild Thing’, released on 6/25/66.

As is required of every hard rock band, the Troggs had a soft, romantic ballad. Released on 2/24/68, ‘Love is All Around’ cracked the Billboard top 10, reaching #7.

A Pratt Worthy of the Name

Robert Pratt, Federal Judge Who Derided Trump Pardons, Dies at 78

He was chastised for remarks ridiculing the pardons of two congressional campaign aides who had been convicted in a bribery plot.

I used to think I’d go the same way as Judge Pratt*, dropping dead while exercising. But now, I don’t think so. All of the tests that were done in preparation for the very successful ablation a year ago showed my heart is in excellent shape. I’m more inclined to bet on the cancer returning and taking me out.

* Author Douglas Adams and comic book artist Herb Trimpe died from exercise-induced heart attacks.
