Medicare Disadvantage

I have Medicare with Part B “Medigap” coverage and a Part D prescription plan. Throughout the treatments and successful outcomes for my cancer and persistent Afib, traditional Medicare has been wonderful.

I know people who have Medicare Part C, more commonly called Medicare Advantage. While I’m not aware of them having any serious problems with their coverage, I see the advantage to these plans as favoring the insurers.

More, “We Don’t Need No Stinking Permits”

Here’s a Turning Point USA story you aren’t likely to see anywhere else:

All they had to do was ask for permission and apparently pay a fee, to hawk their message at the campus center. Instead, their approach is the same as setting up in a supermarket parking lot to sell electronics that “fell off a truck.”

The more I know about TPUSA, and contemplate its mission, the more I see it as a next generation Campus Crusade for Christ. Except now, with the support of Republican operatives, the twisted use of Jesus to provide cover for a political agenda is fully developed and expressed.

Blue Collar Whites

The Oregon AFL-CIO calls out the Department of Labor for its vision of Ayn Rand poster boys, worthy of gracing the covers of her romantic fantasy novels, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

An American workforce that appears to be young, straight-looking, closeted gay white men. If the Defense Department is going to be called the War Department, then Labor may as well be called the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.

I’ve Got Nuthin’ on my Mind

On Sunday, Denro and I were at the Albany Comic Con. It’s a small, one-day show that’s devoted to comic books, which is a rarity these days. I bought this groovy FLAME ON! logo from comic book letterer Janice Chiang. It would make a good tattoo, not that I’d ever have any interest in getting one.

That’s all I have at the moment. I’ll think of something else to Prattle about later.

Oh, wait. There is one more thing. Something from a few days ago that returns every time I reset it on the CR-V. I suppose I should get an estimate on a new catalytic converter.
