I Shot the Screen

Here’s another boring screen shot of a technical-related thing.  Sorry!  Will get back to fun stuff in the next post.

If you don’t know what the “Feeds” on the right do, this is how they appear in my Yahoo! home page.  I’m extremely sensitive to how daunting all of this new technology is to the vast majority of people, but to me it is neat, although frequently as frustrating as it is to anybody else.

  1. I think I saw a T-shirt somewhere where there’s a stereotypical computer programmer who’s standing up in front of his blown-out computer monitor with a smoking gun. That pretty much says it all!

  2. Don’t misunderstand me! It’s all a matter of degree. I get just as aggravated, or more, as anybody, when the computer doesn’t do what I want it to do, or it’s too slow, or whatever. The only difference is a matter of degree.

There are users, such as yourself, Jean, and there are development programmers, like the guys I work with. I’m somewhere in the middle. But we all experience the same sense of aggravation, no matter the level of sophistication of what we’re trying to do.

  3. Define “extremely sensitive!” I can just see you blowing your top at me trying to accomplish ANY of the “neat stuff” you do! You’re a GENIUS! Plus you have the added benefit of not being a GEEK! I will admit, the very few times I’ve slipped up and let the “EFF” word fly within Molly’s hearing range ALWAYS had to do with my computer, the OLD one!
