Treasure in, garbage out. Apple (the Beatles’ Apple) and EMI are suing a UK cleaning service for wrongly throwing out boxes of photos in 2001. [Link] The boxes were retrieved, but having been through a compactor the photos were ruined and could not be recovered. D’oh! Why so long for this to come to light, I wonder?

I haven’t yet had a chance to digest the news about Neil Aspinall’s apparently abrupt departure. Don’t know if I’ll have time to do that for a while. Need to finalize taxes. I always put it off because I always owe.
And I thought I was careless! It also again begs the question, why not put the masters on digital? Well, why not? Say, do you think there is any connection between this and Neil Aspinwall’s sudden departure from Apple? Maybe he took the photos all the way across the Atlantic, put them into the Man in Black’s empty home, stood back and sang “Ring of Fire!” Awful about Cash’s home, isn’t it? They filmed his last video there. A busy day in Rockdom!
Y’know, I don’t know how far Apple/EMI will get with this lawsuit. You’d think that if those photos were so valuable, they would have been kept safely locked away somewhere.
