If you happen to live in England, you’re in for a bit of good luck, because a new Petula Clark CD is about to be released, including five new songs! It’s called “THEN AND NOW – THE VERY BEST OF PETULA CLARK”, and it will be out on June 16th. It’s listed on Amazon’s UK site, but not yet here in America. The new songs are described here, on the new Petula Clark blog.
Petula fan Dave Moncur, our DogRat reader in Scotland, wrote to say that the Times Online has posted a new interview with Pet, Not Just Anybody: Petula Clark. The questions are funny and unusual, and I daresay some of them are the sort that only another woman would ask of her. Unfortunately, at the moment the dimensions of the photo of Pet on that page have been distorted. The JPG is here in its original and unmodified form, just like Pet herself, who assures us she’s never had any plastic surgery.
Yeah. Is the software good enough now that we would recognize her, or would the age progression image look like Keith Richard?
Oh! Like in “Has anybody seen this woman?” 😉
On a related thought, Petula has had photos taken of her since she was a little girl. I’m wondering what would happen if a series of images of her from, say, ages 8 to 18 were processed by an age progression software system. Would the results look as she actually appears today?
I should be so lucky to look that good at her age, and I’m sure I’m expressing the sentiments of many middle-aged women like me! If Pet hasn’t done Botox either, or any of those other cosmetic fixes short of actual plastic surgery, she is indeed remarkable. I won’t do those things either, so I’ll just have to accept whatever lines, sags and bags I get! HA!
Now, now. Be nice. Pet is indeed lovely in person. And I can confirm that she is, as I’d long heard, PETite!
Maybe she takes baths in formaldehyde!!! 😉 That’s a lovely apple-cheeked perky Pet photo!!!
