History in the making! America will have either a Hawaiian President or an Alaskan Vice President. Like Colbert, in politics I see neither race nor gender. π

Hey, Honey, better Socialism than Fascism and Deiism! π
What, me worry? IT’S A LANDSLIDE! Socialism here we come! π
Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now! First the Phillies, now the Country! Check out the states won, the crowd in Oak Park, Illinois, the house, senate and other races won. People are tired of the negativity, the hatred, the hypocrisy. The past 8 years have been too damn long! Cactus Lizzie, we won! π
Gee, Doug, you are such a positive person. Why all of the sudden are you drinking Old Pessimistic Poop Juice? We sure don’t want John “I voted with George W. Bush 90% of the time” McCain in as Prez. If that happened I’d rather be in Gitmo having a waterboarding session while listening to Dubya’s incoherent speeches. Well, true to party lines some of the South and West have gone for McCain. So, if the country wants dividing-we know where to distribute the population. If Barack wins, the Evangelicals are going to be digging storm cellars, putting thick cement walls and apartments around the churches, and writing thousands of books about the Apocalypse coming and the Antichrist being here. They’ll be beside themselves…and we’ll finally have something good to look forward to instead of the same old s**t!
As I heard on the BBC yesterday, the whole world is watching! If anybody has ever had a doubt that the American President can have a huge effect on the world, just look at the mess Bush is leaving behind.
I don’t want to get my hopes up too much for Obama winning, let alone being an effective President. Clinton was a potent leader, despite the GOP’s constant efforts to get him. Perhaps potent isn’t the right word. π The thing was, of course, that Newt Gingrich and the late Henry Hyde were both guilty of exactly the same personal failings as Clinton. It’s the hypocrisy that burns me.
Hi Doug! Ah! Well, I went out early and did my patriotic (and our country’s!) duty by voting for our man Barack! That was a good time to go. By 7 when the polls opened there was a relatively small line and I was #25 to vote at our polling place. I’m going to avoid all election coverage until 6 PM when Pacifica’s “Democracy Now” (good ol’ Liberal Media!) comes on. They are supposed to have their own coverage on from 7-12 and I think the MIND channel is carrying it. Still, I think at 10 I’ll turn on “Indecision ’08”. Didn’t that used to come on earlier than that though? It seems Comedy Central is dumbing down, doesn’t it? I also thought I’d check out coverage on BET and TV One and BBC America. Keep your fingers crossed there’s no repeat of 2000 and 2004! π
Yep, Doug! On the front page of the Yerizon Mobile Web the first headline is “Can 2000 Repeat Itself?”. HAH! There damn well better not be any cheating! Why didn’t they just text RNC headquarters?___ “HEY! DO WHAT DUBYA DID! TWICE!”. Tomorrow I’m getting to our polling place at 6:30 AM in case there’s a line from there to Philly to vote! Then when it opens at 7 AM I get a good spot! HOPEFULLY! Pretty soon voting is going to be like going to a big-name concert and you’ll have to bring a sleeping bag to get a good spot in front! π Oy!
