If you click here, you’ll see Amazon.com’s pre-publication listing for Monte Schulz’s new novel, This Side of Jordan. Here’s Monte in a photo that’s 1280×720 pixels — HD Monte!
Monte’s stepmother, Jeannie, recently donated $1 million to the Ohio State University Cartoon Library & Museum. Cartoonist Brian Narelle, who teaches cartooning classes at the Charles M. Schulz Museum, took this picture of the Charlie Brown car that belongs to Jeannie. That’s the manager of the ice rink at the wheel.
Thanks for the book plug! It seems weird seeing it there now. You can also read about it on the Fantagraphics site with a picture of what the cover may ending being. So that Chevy of Jeannie’s will become a classic since the car won’t be made anymore. It does look cool in person where it’s even more yellow than the photo shows.
Well, I’m turning “This Side Of Jordan” in on Tuesday. I had to check every fact in the book, something I swore I’d never do, but when I found a couple of trees were wrong, I knew I had to look everything up again. Doing so sent me back to my old Montgomery Ward catalogue from 1923 to look up Pompeiian night cream where I discovered their product was spelled Pompeian (one “i”). Who would’ve known that??? Also, today I discovered that “syrup of iodide” used to treat tuberculosis, was spelled “iodid” in the 1910 physicians’s book I consulted (and a couple others, too), so I had to make that change, too. What a pain!
