Marvel Comics is taking some heat for what’s being taken as a swipe against the Tea Baggers, in the latest issue of Captain America.

I heard about this while watching Keith Olbermann. Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada issued a statement that seemed to implicate… the letterer?? Then, in the middle of the piece, Bill Clinton’s doctors held a press conference about his heart stent operation. I just checked the MSNBC site and this part of Olbermann’s show isn’t there, so I grabbed it myself from the re-broadcast at 10. I sure can make good video transfers off of Verizon FiOS TV, huh?

Clinton’s doctors refused to say what brand of stent was used but if it’s a Kamen stent there’s still a comics connection, because it was invented by Dean Kamen, son of the late comic book artist Jack Kamen.
Really? Ha! That’s amazing. Then you’re not the same Starkweather I know of!
Thanks for sharing.
(Hmmm…I don’t have an Amazon baby registry. Someone is going to be happy, though!)
I use a couple of different methods. I’ve read accounts of people being able to get files off of their DVR using the Firewire port, but I’ve never tried that. I sometimes capture FiOS directly to the computer using an analog composite cable, but I get the best results from a more cumbersome technique.
I feed the composite output from a FiOS D/A STB into a Panasonic DVD recorder. I have this setup in place to make DVD’s of “The Colbert Report” for a friend who doesn’t have cable TV, while leaving my DVR free. Putting a finalized DVD into my computer, I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory to edit the recording and save it as an MPEG-2 file. Then I use WinFF to convert the file to FLV or MP4 (each format has its advantages) and upload to the Web site with Filezilla.
(BTW: I’ve ordered something from your Amazon baby registry. Best wishes and good luck!)
Doug, how do you make video transfers from FiOS TV? Are you just using analog out, or are you somehow pulling the digital video off the STB?
Stan had no say in the sale of Marvel to Disney.
First Stan Lee sells out to Disney, now THIS! Hmm … I don’t now what to think. And how do the Kamen stents (if they were Kamen stents) now tucked into Bill’s arteries tie into all of this skulduggery? Stay tuned! Just kidding …. 😉 Actually, I did immediately think of the Kamen stents when the first mentioned that they had put stents in. I don’t know how many types there are.
