And Alex was only five years old than Doug and I (my husband’s age). He recorded “The Letter” at the tender age of 16! Funny you should post “Sweet Cream Ladies,” Dougie. Molly is always singing “her” songs to drive me nuts, so I’ll sing songs from when WE were in the 8th grade right back at her. Examples: “More Today that Yesterday,” by the Spiral Starecase,” “Na, Na, Na, Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, Goodbye,” by Steam, and, “Sweet Cream Ladies” by the Box Tops, just for starters. Drives her crazy! If she complains that they’re too “wimpy,” she get’s “Fire” by Arthur Brown. 😉
