I think the promotional films were for the band mates to show their parents. 😉 There were music shows on TV. American Bandstand, Hullabaloo, and Shindig in America. England had Ready, Steady, Go. But they were all gone by ’67, so I don’t know really know where the films would have been shown after that, other than Ed Sullivan showing the music clips sent by the Beatles.
What was the audience for “music videos” before the dawn of MTV (back when it deserved the M in its name)?
