“The Last Rose of Summer“, the follow-up to Monte Schulz’s wild, rollicking novel “This Side of Jordan”, should be out in a couple-few of weeks. Assuming your browser supports inline frame video, you can watch Monte being interviewed by Fred Klein on Literary Gumbo.
All three of the books from “Crossing Eden” are quite a bit different from each other, which I think makes the entire book that much more interesting. Editing “The Big Town” now really gives me a great feeling about all of this. I think you’ll be impressed. I really hope so.
Well golly gosh, Monte, you’re very welcome! I enjoy spotlighting some of the things that I like. “The Last Rose of Summer” sure sounds like it’s a very different book from “This Side of Jordan”! I’m looking forward to getting my copy.
Wow, thanks for posting this, Doug! I’m very grateful. I enjoyed that interview maybe more than any I’d done. Maybe because I really had a chance to talk about the entire book. I’m editing The Big Town now for a March 1st deadine. It’s the longest of the three books (about 430 pages) and has the most of everything. But more importantly, I am now getting a sense of what the entire book is like, at last. And it’s really strange to see connections and purposes in the book that I never saw when I was writing it. Anyhow, you’ve been great to me on here. Thanks!
