Comment writer Lina (who is not Lia!), sent this K3 video that’s a real knock-out. They’re singing live, and in English. Watch how Kristel Verbeke takes command of the stage. If this doesn’t convince you that Kristel is a major talent, nothing will. This is way too short, and I would love to see more of Kristel doing lead, with Karen and Josje providing backup as they do here.
The announcer, who I assume is Peter(?), seems to be taking his fashion cue from Matt Smith as Doctor Who.
This was good! Hearing the songs in English, and knowing the old pop hits, has a lot to do with my being able to better appreciate Kristel’s talent and the group K3 now. Being older myself, I also prefer the more adult image than the cute little girl stuff K3 has done, that appealed to teenyboppers. I realize, however, that they were a big hit and made good money on the more juvenile image K3 had going for them, so of course it was the way for K3 to handle their career, for sure. Not many entertainers can widen their appeal to adult audiences, and I give K3 a lot of credit for their flexibility to do so.
Great American accent, Kristel! How nice to see my favorite pop group again. Yes, I can see the Matt Smith influence.
