Okay, so that’s a brass band playing the 9 to 5 theme in this video from tastewar. The “woodwind” pun was just too good to resist.

I’ve never seen 9 to 5. Planet Money has the backstory on how the organization, the song and the movie, came to be.

My curiosity is piqued from seeing that Sterling Hayden is in the movie. I’m further surprised that Hayden was only 70 when he died.

Another surprise was learning that Gina Bacon of ‘Big Planet Noise’ and ‘Someday Matinee’ on WFMU worked for Dolly Parton. Gina’s been busy since Dolly’s passing, dealing with matters within Parton’s organization.
