This would have been better for Valentine’s Day than on President’s Day, but I hadn’t heard it until now, thanks to Pandora. 20-year-old Stephen Sanchez, going with a retro sound that has me wondering if his mother is a Chris Isaak fan.
97 million views! Sanchez was on Colbert last year. I usually only watch music acts on his show that I already know. Just shows to go ya.
P.S. Something about that song reminded me of something else, but it took a while to realize it was this.
I’m watching a DVD I bought in the summer of 2010, that I probably haven’t watched again since then, so today’s viewing is long overdue. It’s the famous T.A.M.I. Show.
Re-reading the DVD booklet, I’m reminded that loveable Teri Garr, just 19 at the time, was one of the dancers. That’s Teri with blond hair, wearing a sweatshirt. Toni Basil arranged some of the show’s choreography.

Everything about the T.A.M.I. Show is significant, even the way it was filmed. Using the last word in Kinescope technology, customized TV cameras with resolution equivalent to 720p were recorded directly onto 35mm film. I can’t embed the movie, but you can watch it on YouTube, complete and in excellent quality.
A highlight last night of Andrew Sandoval’s interview with Jeff Barry was Jeff’s phone call to Micky Dolenz, caught in the middle of dinner.
Micky will be on Jimmy Fallon’s show, Monday, February 27, talking about his current projects with Sandoval.
It’s been a busy week for Andrew, beginning with his tribute to Burt Bacharach, featuring some of the composer’s less familiar songs.
