Prue News

Prudence Bury has put her home in France up for sale. Prue says it’s time to downsize, but “Oh how I hate that expression.” Here is a link where you can see her property, which includes a separate guest/vacation house, called a gîte.

What a lovely place! The farm house was restored by Prue, and she did all of the decorating, of course.

  1. Hi! Are you able to scan that photo of Prue? I don’t know if she has it in her collection, and I would love to see it. Copies of that issue look like they go for upwards of $75.

  2. I arrived here to identify the Prue Hooper pictured in American Vogue 15 November 1965 dressed in Mary Quant for the opening of New York’s ‘Paraphernalia’, 795 Madison Avenue, a Carnabetian corner of a foreign field.

  3. Jennifer — This comment is redundant, as you and I have already exchanged messages, but I’ve very glad that you found Prue here on my site. I’m sure she will be delighted to hear from you.

  4. Dear Prudence,

Tony Sweeny (do you remember him at the RBS?) sent me this link, and I am so delighted and happy to catch up with you and your news. I have thought about you often over the years. Remember when a certain princess spilt her tea?
I live relatively near Heather C. (she is in Las Vegas, I am in Arizona), and we will be meeting again in October when Tony comes over to visit Heather and other friends, including Joan P.; we plan to catch up and talk about old times.

Your farmhouse is simply beautiful! Such a house has always been my dream; however, because I live in the southwestern United States I have had to settle for “madly modern” design!

Oh, I agree with you about the expression “to downsize”! Ghastly!

    Fondest thoughts and memories,

    Jennifer
