Name the Movie, Name the Face

Here’s another great movie face, but current and not classic like Paulette Goddard. I don’t know why she isn’t a bigger name than she is, despite the fact she has a very unusual name. She’s star material, but for some reason she’s been stuck in supporting roles.

  1. The plot is about a fictitious rock band called Stillwater, and a semi-autobiographical portrayal of Cameron Crowe’s tenure as a teenage rock writer for Rolling Stone. I adore “Almost Famous” and can recommend it highly.

  2. Hey! I’ve heard of that movie, but never knew the plot. That said, I’m renting a copy. Tom won’t get it all, having graduated in 1968!

  3. That’s Zooey Deschanel in “Almost Famous,” set around a high school graduation in 1973. The movie captures the era pretty well. I laugh at myself for remembering how much I enjoyed “American Grafitti” when it came out then, thinking how great it would have been to be graduating from high school in ’62. Much later I realized how infinitely better it was to have graduated in ’73.

Some people say Zooey looks like Debra Winger, and I guess I can see that, but I’ve never been a Debra Winger fan. Zooey’s sister Emily is a model. She was on the cover of Boston Common magazine, which as I’ve mentioned comes to the house for free and celebrates a lavish lifestyle that’s anything but free!

  4. My GOD, her eyes are HUGE. I have no idea. Without the curlers, and with makeup, she’s probably beyond stunning, because she looks great here! OK, fess up!
