I’ve been enjoying Welcome to Wackyland: The Wonderful World of Bob Clampett.
I was pleased to learn that among the many works exhibited at the new Lucas Museum is 8 Man manga art by Jiro Kuwata.
The late and very lamented Joe Sinnott’s 100th birthday is coming up on the 16th. Denro and I are planning to be graveside with the Sinnott family the next day. As I told Joe more than once, my favorite four-part Fantastic Four story is the series that was inspired by the British TV series The Prisoner.
Radio, TV and comics no longer capture the imaginations of kids like they used to do. Other media have taken over, so there’s nothing for parents and teachers to worry about!

Yes, I read in People that Lucas’s movie work would not dominate the museum, but other cool stuff would be included, like the manga art. I was pretty sure you and Denro would be early customers, and would be delighted at this discovery!
I myself am delighted that you and Dennis will be there to honor your dear friend Joe on his 100th birthday. After all, you two are honorary members of his family. I’m sure he loved you both.
And now, a confession: I used to sneak into your room to read about the swoony romance between Sue and Reed. I was VERY CAREFUL with your comics, but was always looking over my shoulder with a pounding heart, knowing you could walk in at any moment to discover my secret shame.
I accidentally created a small crease on a page once and lived in terror for days that you’d find it and interrogate me, as I was one of the lucky few you shared your treasures with.
Forgive me? No?! Better get out the morphine for the well-deserved decapitation. Phhhhhht!!!!!
