I hope it isn’t too late to submit this to get my driver’s insurance discount!

For my next plumbing trick, I’m going to install a faucet in the hall bathroom. Or at least I’ll give it a try.

Looking inside of the vanity, I can see that removing the old faucet will be next to impossible without a special tool. Perhaps even with the tool.
Remember Joe the Plumber? Joe wasn’t actually a plumber, but he knew which way the political wastewaters were flowing, being an early Trump for President supporter in 2008.
Today I took a turn at playing plumber. In true plumbing fashion, with my pants riding em-bare-ass-ing-ly low in back, I installed a new kitchen faucet.
A couple of years ago I started getting water in the basement during heavy rain. The problem has been getting worse, and during yesterday’s storm I rigged up something temporarily that seemed to help.
The house was built fifty years ago, and as best as I can determine there was supposed to be a basement walk-out entrance, but it was never completed. So that will be my next construction project, assuming I can find the right contractor. Someone who can also successfully tackle the water drainage problem.
When I was born in Evanston Hospital, it was a whites-only facility.
Even a simple job, like replacing one side of a door casing, requires a lot of tools.
