10 dead, suspect arrested in mass shooting at supermarket
The gunman was identified as Payton Gendron of Conklin, a community about 200 miles (320 kilometers) southeast of Buffalo in New York state, two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press.
Payton Gendron, age 11, attending a 2015 Vet School open house at Cornell University It’s been reported the alleged shooter wrote online of his belief in extreme right wing ideas, like white replacement. Who or what could have influenced him so profoundly as an adolescent?
He was 11 years old when Trump announced his candidacy for the 2016 Presidential election. Could there be a connection? I’m just asking a question, like Tucker Carlson would do.
There was quite a mix of hit songs in 1968, that year of great musical transition, as FM radio began to rival AM. There were soft singles like “Love is Blue” by Paul Mauriat, and “This Guy’s in Love With You” by Herb Alpert. But there was also “Hush” by Deep Purple and this one by Canned Heat.
Normal Greenbaum’s “Spirit in the Sky” hit the charts a couple of years later. I heard something of “On the Road Again” in it, and whenever I hear one of those records I always think of the other.

Insurrection sympathizer Josh Hawley seems to think he’s a Republican senator from Florida, and not Missouri, the state he represents. Joining the battle being waged by Florida governor Ron DeSantis, Hawley wants to cut short Disney’s ownership of Ub Iwerks’ original character design for Mickey Mouse, which is scheduled to expire in a couple of years anyway.
Fifty years ago, Nixon’s Republican dirty-tricksters were planning the Watergate break-in. At that same time, a group of underground cartoonists calling themselves The Air Pirates were fighting Disney in court.
How ironic that a radical Republican wants to strip Disney of its hold on the same imagery that a group of Hippie cartoonists wanted to exploit.
Note the addition of the “NIX KIDS – ADULTS ONLY!” disclaimer
Air Pirates Funnies was a subversive take on Mickey Mouse, while being a faithful tribute to the masterful artistry displayed in the first years of the Disney comic strip.
As a kid, despite being a devoted cartoon watcher, I somehow missed Filmation’s take on Green Lantern. This playlist is here so I can watch the cartoons later. It’s interesting to see how closely, or not, these low-budget productions followed the source material.
Debbie Daughtry at Boss Radio 66 says Tom Hanks won’t be available to do his DJ gig again until July. He’s busy with his day job, whatever it is he does to make a living. Here’s the complete Sh-Boom Sh-Bang of Songs from the Back of the Station Wagon shows so far.
Before Myst there was the interactive text game Adventure. Introduced in 1976, I first played Adventure on an Infoton dumb terminal in 1981. I can’t find a picture of the Infoton, so here’s a Lear-Siegler ADM-3A, also introduced in 1976.
I became an expert on dumb terminals (Dumb Terminals for Dummies?) and asynchronous data communication at the suggestion of the co-founder of my employer. My thorough understanding of 7-bit ASCII, RS-232 interfacing, start bit/data bits/parity bit/stop bits, and Xon/Xoff flow control served me well for about ten years, until it was rendered irrelevant by the PC revolution. I never got all the way through Adventure, but it’s available to play online for free.
